Washington Island, WI, January 31, 2020 – BackRoads Events has announced the 1st Annual Sól Grass Music Festival, a two-day bluegrass festival on Washington Island in Door County, Wisconsin.
Scheduled for June 19-20, 2020 at the Washington Island Campground (745 East Side Road, Washington Island, WI 54246) , organizers say Washington Island is the perfect place for festival goers to enjoy a taste of nature and to take part in an authentic music experience.
The island is just a short and beautiful ferry ride off the tip of the Door County Peninsula. The weekend can be a time to relax and reconnect with friends and family, make new friends, explore the island, look at the stars, pick a new tune, and of course enjoy some amazing bluegrass music. When festival goers are not listening to music they can enjoy all the island has to offer. The festival partner, Island Adventure Company, offers kayak and stand up paddleboard rentals to enjoy the surrounding waters, plus electric bikes and ATVs to explore the Island’s more than 100 miles of wide open roads.
The 2020 Sól Grass Music Festival line-up includes some of Wisconsin’s most popular classic and progressive bluegrass bands, and will feature Them Coulee Boys, Chicken Wire Empire, Armchair Boogie, Sortin’ the Mail and a Door County favorite, The Cherry Pickers.
Other featured bands include: Chain Station, Canyon Collected, The Pickin Pear, all from Colorado, and the Humbird Trio from Minneapolis.
The Friday music line-up starts at 5:30 pm and ends that evening at 10:30 pm. Saturday’s music kicks off at 2:30 pm and ends at 10:30 pm. However, the evening does not end there. Festival goers are encouraged to bring their instruments and enjoy spontaneous jams with fellow campers and band members. Even if you do not play an instrument, you will enjoy the late night music scene.
