WASHINGTON ISLAND, (Sept. 18, 2011) – Good old-fashioned family fun awaits you at the annual Fall Fun Fest & Cider Pressing Party at the Washington Island Farm Museum, 10am – 4pm, Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th.
The Washington Island Cider Pressing Party has been held at the Farm Museum since 1987. Join in the fun by pressing your own cider on the Farm Museum’s antique press (always on display). Only $4 per bucket of apples, or bring your own apples.
Come hungry and stop by the concession stand for delicious brats, chili and homemade molasses cookies. Wash it all down with a fall favorite, hot or cold apple cider! Then, sit back and relax on a free horse and wagon ride!
Enjoy a little local history while you wander. Grab a self-guided tour brochure and visit the Farm Museum’s buildings and equipment displays, and don’t miss the Antique Tractor Show, going on all weekend.
Live local entertainment will be held the new barn, where you will find Linda’s now-famous hand-dipped caramel apples for sale too! The fun continues with children’s outdoor games, held on Sunday, Oct. 9th at 1:00 PM, including tug of war, sack races, and relays!
The Fall Fun Fest wraps up with a Giant pumpkin contest judging at 3:00 on Sunday. Anyone may enter so give the Farm Museum’s pumpkin some competition!
