August 7 – Scandinavian Luncheon at Bethel Church

Over 100 outstanding folk dancers, some fourth generation participants, will perform at the Jacqueline Cornell Foss Memorial Stage, located next to the Mosling Recreation Center. The performers have a wide range of ages and some are even fourth generation dancers from the same extended family. The seating holds as many as 400 attendees in a bucolic outdoor setting. Admission is $5 per adult.

Island Fair • 12pm-5pm  • August 15th sponsored by the W.I. Lions Club Located on the W.I. School Grounds on Main Rd. $1.00 admission. Parade • Noon Bingo • 2pm Raffle • 4:30pm Live Music • Classic Cars • Food Stands • Beverages Stands Games, Fair exhibits ( Cash Prizes ) in Gym.

The Washington Island Literary Festival is a moveable feast of writing, reading, discussion, and thought about the written word. Writers’ workshops, author panels and presentations, readings and parties are scheduled at various quaint, historic and beautiful venues around the Island.  Participants have a unique opportunity to share time with prominent authors and dedicated readers in the intimate, friendly setting of Washington Island, a half-hour by ferry from the Door County mainland, in September’s color and warmth.
